Access Statement & Facilities
FOR ALANNAH HOUSE BED AND BREAKFAST

INTRODUCTION

We aim to cater for the needs for all visitors in our home.  We have 3 en-suite bedrooms and breakfast is included in the price.  The following statement is a summary of our provisions.  If you have any specific questions feel free to contact us and we will endeavour to help.

PRE-ARRIVAL

•    The train station is about a ten-minute walk from the house.
•    There are taxis outside the train station.
•    Local taxi numbers and cards are available.  We can book if required.
•    We have our own website. (www.Alannahhouse.com).

ARRIVAL AND CAR PARK FACILITIES

•    On arrival to the property there are 2 doors, outer wooden door (87 cm wide), always open if someone is in the house and inner glass door (84cm).
•    There are 2 steps (13cm high) leading to the outer door.
•    Outer door has a bell on right hand side of door frame . (170 cm high)
•    We have resident parking permits available for guests to use.
•    Closest resident parking is immediately outside our front door on our side of the street and round the corner on the Parade. (1st come 1st served) not guaranteed a space.
•    Other side of the street parking is free to anyone but there is a 2 hour time limit with no return within 3 hours between 9am and 5:30pm Mon-Sat.  We can supply a temporary clock disc which must be displayed.
•    Parade car park is free and there is no limitations.
•    We can assist guests with luggage if required.
•    Berwick’s main street is 300 yards down a slight hill, from the property.

MAIN ENTRANCE AND RECEPTION

•    Leading to the front door there are 2 steps (13cm high).
•    The outer wooden door (87 cm wide).
•    The inner door (83 cm wide).
•    Corridor (91cm x 488 cm).
•    There is a wood effect kardeen flooring throughout the ground floor.
•    Corridors have tongue and groove wood half way up the walls.  Good colour and are well lit all through the day and night.
•    The dining room is on the ground floor.
•    There is a small step into the dining room (7 cm)
•    Door (76 cm wide)

DINING ROOM

•    Breakfast is served in dining room on ground floor between 8 am – 9am.
•     3 Tables (69cm high and 107 cm diameter).
•    Chairs without arms (48 cm high).  Which can be moved to accommodate needs.

MENUS

•    Available in large lettering.

FIRST FLOOR

•    Push button switch on right hand side at bottom of the stairs then again at the bottom of the next set of stairs on your right.  These are automatic and do not need switched off.
•    9 steps then some landing then another 9 steps.
•    Stairs (15cm high, 28 cm deep, 85 cm wide).
•    Small stair lighting at ground level, every 2nd step.
•    3 guest bedrooms on first floor.

BEDROOM 1

•    Wooden door (72cm wide) opening inward.
•    En-suite door on left side as you enter (72cms wide).
•    Shower cubicle with 2 doors.
•    Toilet is a sani-flow and is flushed by electric.  Toilet is 45 cm high.
•    En-suite has non slip kardeen flooring.
•    Basin is a vanity unit with drawers and cupboards and mirror above with sensor shaving light.
•    5 ft wide bed (58 cm)
•    2 x bedside units (71cm high).
•    2 wing back chairs (38cm high).
•    A wall mounted TV with freeview and remote control.
•    Furniture can be moved on request.
•    Fitted short pile carpet on floor.
•    Hair dryer, small fridge, iron and iron board, tea/coffee facilities

BEDROOM 2

•    Wooden door (74cm wide) opening inward.
•    Ensuite door at back or room (72cms wide)
•    Shower quadrant with 2 doors
•    Toilet is a sani-flow and is flushed by electric (toilet 45cm high)
•    En-suite has a non slip kardeen flooring.
•    Basin is a vanity unit with drawers and cupboards and mirror above with sensor shaving light.
•    Double bed (53 cm high).
•    Single bed (51 cm).
•    2 x bedside units (71cm high).
•    2 wing back chairs with arms (38 cm high).
•    A wall mounted TV with freeview and remote
•    Furniture can be moved on request.
•    Fitted short pile carpet on floor.
•    Hair dryer, small fridge, iron and ironing board, tea/coffee facilities

BEDROOM 3

•    First wooden door (77cm wide) opening inward.
•    Second wooden door (82 cm wide).
•    En-suite door (74 cm wide).
•    Shower cubicle edge (29 cm high).
•    Toilet (41 cm high).
•    En-suite has tiled floor.
•    Free plan space in en-suite (150 cm x 170 cm).
•    Basin in bedroom is on a vanity unit (79cm high).
•    Double bed (51 cm high).
•    Single bed (51 cm).
•    Single bed (52 cm).
•    3 cane chairs with arms (35 cm high).
•    Settee (42 cm high).
•    Free standing TV with remote and video in the main bedroom area and a wall mounted TV with remote in small bedroom area.
•    Furniture can be moved on request.
•    Fitted short pile carpet on floor
•    hair dryer, small fridge , iron and ironing board, tea/coffee facilities also cot.

GROUNDS AND GARDENS

•    Back outside door (82 cm wide).
•    We have a complete walled garden, (flower border patio, lawn and summer house), for residents to use.
•    Lawn and summerhouse is down 3 stairs then a flat then 5 stairs.
•    We are 300 metres from all of the entrances to the walls of Berwick and they are open to the public.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

•    Mobile phone reception is generally good.
•    Only the front door can be used for evacuation. 
•    Evacuation procedures noted in all bedrooms.  On back of the doors. 
•    The fire alarm will sound if evacuation is needed.
•    If you require more assistance for evacuation please notify us on arrival and we will ensure you are evacuated safely.
•    We are a non-smoking building.
•    Smoking is allowed in the bottom part of the garden and bins are provided.
•    We supply fridges in the bedrooms, which can be used for medication/food.
•    If required we can put larger items in our own fridge, in the kitchen. (Not available 24 hours a day).
•    There is no public WC available as all the rooms are en-suite.
•    LAUNDRY: – available on request for a small charge.
•    SHOP: – not available.
•    LEISURE FACILITIES: – not available.
•    OUTDOOR FACILITIES: – not available.
•    Videos are available on request for guests in bedroom 3 only.
